My Relationship Is In Need Of Serious Help!
Do you ever feel like you and your partner disagree on most things? Do you feel disconnected because you have very different perspectives on handling tough situations? Do your painful thoughts and feelings often lead to frequent arguments? Or do you feel that you are in a relatively healthy relationship, yet want to become more aware of both your needs and your partner's needs?
You’ve Tried Different Approaches, and Nothing Is Working?
Beyond Just "Talking," juggling the demands of relationship care and self-care is a common challenge for couples, affecting their overall well-being and the strength of their connection.
When relationships go off track, it’s healthy and beneficial to tweak and learn new things for improvement. Relationships are beautiful and a continuous growth process for both partners. If not understood correctly, the foundation of this union can become unclear and, unfortunately, lead to one or both partners walking away.
- Relationships require consistent maintenance
- Your partner should motivate you to be yourself
- It is okay to be different, but relationship goals need to be the same

Hi! I'm Jill White-Huffman, a licensed mental health counselor and family therapist. I offer coaching services to individuals and couples seeking support. During our sessions, collaboration, consent, and communication are key to creating a safe space.
* I help couples understand themselves and each other. Differences don’t have to lead to conflict. They gain tools to strengthen bonds and resolve disagreements peacefully.
* My approach is tailored to each person's needs, recognizing that feeling overwhelmed can impact energy, clarity, and decision-making.
* If in a committed relationship, personal struggles can affect the partnership, making it hard for partners to understand the underlying issues.
I utilize various therapy models, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Existential Therapy, the Gottman Method, Narrative Therapy, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, to help individuals achieve their goals. I am also a Level 2 Gottman Marriage Counselor and a Seven Principles of Marriage Educator trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy. I serve as support to couples at all stages and am passionate about coaching and education. I conduct pre-screening and assessment before getting started.

Restore Your Relationship
Keep In Mind: Relationship concerns occur in all partnerships. If ignored, they can cause communication breakdowns and unhealthy behaviors.

Key Elements in Building Strong Relationships: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and Their Antidotes, by Dr. John Gottman
John Gottman, Ph.D., is a highly regarded researcher and clinical psychologist who has spent many years studying couples and marital stability. His work focuses on a research-based approach to understanding marital relationships. In his sessions, he found he could predict the outcome of a marriage with about 91% accuracy.
Gottman identified four harmful behaviors that damage a healthy relationship and describes them with a metaphor: Criticism, Contempt, Defensiveness, and Stonewalling. He called them the Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse and created healthy ways to counteract them with what he calls their antidotes.
Drs. John and Julie Gottman focus on couples and the factors that contribute to relationship breakdowns, divorce, or separation. Their research explains why some couples last while others face unhealthy dynamics.
The Gottman’s have found that research-backed methods offer practical strategies for couples to regularly improve their relationships by focusing on friendship, effective communication, and emotional connection.
According to Gottman’s, couples who nurture strong friendships experience positive emotions toward their partner. When there is a flood of positive feelings, conflicts cannot penetrate and destroy the relationship.
